Jesus College recently received a large bequest of modern books from a centenarian Old Member. The books arrived last month in two dozen boxes: an early Christmas present. Before term began last week, library staff had time to sort through the boxes and identify over 200 volumes published by the Folio Society, whose speciality is attractive typesetting and binding.

The Folio Society collection has now found a suitably grand home in the Fellows’ Guest Room. It has displaced a motley collection of twentieth-century printed material which staff are assessing for College connections. The Folio books can now be enjoyed and appreciated by guests staying in College.
